Dina Cortez Johnson

Dina Cortez was born in San Benito, TX. on December 25, 1940. After battling Alzheimer’s/dementia bravely for several years God called her home on November 21, 2018. You can all do the “math” on her age, but if you know mom she would tell you she is “35”, and tell you she was “saying that to make you laugh”.

Preceded in death by her husband the love of her life Charly Johnson, Dina will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses Martin, daughter- in- law Carolina, Mario and daughter- in- law Monica, 7 beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer, Vanessa, Mario Eric, Martin Matthew, Myles, Andrea, and Natalia. Great grandchildren Alessa, and Levy My-linh. Siblings, Katie, Abelardo “Lalo”, Alicia, Viola, Elodia, Tony and she joins two other siblings in heaven Ruben and Gracie.

Dina loved her family, friends, and loved helping others. She was very energetic, and enjoyed cooking and eating. She worked hard in earning her way in life by buying and reselling items, and working as her own home builder/realtor building 3 homes that were eventually sold. But one of her biggest passions as we all probably know was making sure she was dressed up, looking young and on time “para el baile”.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday November 24, 2018 from 11 am to 9 pm with family to receive friends from 4pm to 8 pm with a rosary at 6pm at Heavenly Grace Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday November 25, 2018 in Heavenly Grace Chapel at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
