Dorothy D. Gilbert

Dorothy D. Gilbert, daughter of Woody and Ollie Craft was born April 15, 1931, in Fincastle, Virginia. She was next to the youngest of eleven children and the last survivor. She passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the age of 93. Today we rejoice knowing that she has joined her family with the Lord.

On October 16, 1953, she married Ray D. Gilbert. They celebrated 50 years together before his passing in June, 2003.

She is survived by children Sharon Traylor, Dean Moss, Kathy Swanberg-Jenkins (Jeff) and Randy Gilbert (Marilyn). Grandchildren Amy Buffamonte (Brian), Michael Traylor (Ashley), Troy Moss, Sarah Porter (Brad), Travis Moss (Patty), Lisa Dindot (Scott), Dusty Swanberg (Meredith), Kellie Pond (Ansen), Lauren, Lexi, Tiffini and Miranda Gilbert. Step grandchildren Jennifer Callaway and Courtney Fasano (Chris). Great grandchildren Alyssa and Clay Conner, Brax Buffamonte, Christian, William and Landon Traylor, Brady and Lillie Kate Porter, Payton, Tyler, Blake and Ashley Dindot, Jackson, Isabelle and Hudson Swanberg, Kennedy, Harrison and Wesley Pond. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by son in law Billy Traylor and daughter in law Brenda Moss.

For many years, together with her husband, she owned and operated The All Valley Drive Inn Restaurant later renamed The Cowboy Inn in La Feria.

She was employed for 10 years at The Harlingen National Bank before retiring.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Harlingen, Texas.
