

Enemencio Herrera 102 years young went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Enemencio was born December 19, 1922 at Zachary Taylor’s Soldiers Fort in Santa Maria, Texas to Jose Herrera and Leonarda Perez Herrera and he was baptized at Our Lady of Visitation in Santa Maria.
Enemencio is survived by his daughters, Lupita Herrera, Bluetown, Marie (Javier) Herrera Vega, La Feria, Albert Herrera, Bluetown, 10 grandchildren, Alma Vela, Yesenia Herrera, Joey Herrera, Javier Vega Jr, Jordy Vega, Fernando Rivera Jr., Shyan Exinia, Kalvin Rivera, and Darla Herrera, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Enemencio was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Concepcion Garcia Herrera, son, Jose Armando Herrera, grandson, United States Marine & Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega Jr., grandson, Justin Rivera, father, Jose Herrera, mother, Leonarda Perez Herrera, brothers, Praxedis Herrera, Amado Herrera, and Tomas Herrera, sisters, Maria Rincon, Francisca Tavarez, Tomasita Rivera, Eluteria Betancourt, Maria Inez Renteria, and Urbana Minez
Our daddy had a fascinating life, full of adventure and excitement. The stories he shared with us will forever be embedded in our hearts. We were blessed by God with the most wonderful role model, disciplinarian, spiritual guide and loving husband to our mommy and father to us. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend to everyone he met. Farming was his life and he missed it dearly from the moment he retired.
Pallbearers will be Albert Herrera, Javier Vega, Jordy Vega, Javier Vega III, Fernando Rivera Jr. , and Eddie Chavez.
A visitation will occur on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 3pm to 10pm, prayer service at 7 pm. Chapel service will take place at 10am on Saturday, April 12, at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home Royal Palm Chapel. Burial is to follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
