Jerry Roiger, of Weslaco, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2025, just fourteen months after the love of his life and soulmate, Marlynda. Their bond was deep, unwavering, and an anchor for everyone blessed to know them. The world feels dimmer without them, but we find comfort knowing they are together again.
He was a devoted husband to Marlynda, a loving stepfather to Chris (Rebecca) and Ryn (Rich), and a proud grandfather to Kaiden, Sawyer, Jayden, Fynn and Kauner. All of them will carry his guidance, warmth, and kindness forward for the rest of their lives.
Before retirement, he enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a truck driver for Nash Finch in Fargo, North Dakota. After many years on the road, he and Marlynda settled into their retirement in Pharr, Texas, and later in Weslaco, where they built a community of friends who became like family.
Jerry was especially known for his love of dancing. He never missed a chance to get on the dance floor, and he and Marlynda were often found at multiple dances each week, lighting up the room with their joy. After Marlynda passed, he found the strength to keep dancing — knowing it was what she would have wanted and carrying her memory with him every time he stepped onto the floor. His enthusiasm and natural talent made him a sought-after dance partner, always bringing energy and connection through the music.
He was also a master carver, creating everything from tikis and bears to bowling balls transformed into animals or characters, and walking sticks topped with intricate carvings. His pieces were highly sought after, but he never sold them — they were gifts reserved for those he truly cared about, tokens of his love and personal connection.
Their summers were spent at Lee Lake, Minnesota — their happy place — surrounded by friends, their children, and their grandchildren, making memories on the water, around campfires, and in the warmth of the people they loved.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and his deep love for his wife, his family, and the many friends who became part of his life’s story.
