Henry was born August 30, 1955 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Clarence and Shirley Handschke (Steinmetz). Henry’s young life was as a military child and he lived in a multitude of places such as Japan, Hawaii, California,Georgia, Oklahoma, and Kansas City
Henry graduated from Wittenberg High School, WI in 1974 and married Jeanne Halambeck on November 15, 1975. They settled in Kansas City, MO. This November would have marked their 50th anniversary. He proudly had two sons, Nathaniel and Nicholas.
Henry enjoyed a long career with Industrial Engraving in Pulaski WI. Dedicating many years to his craft starting in the machine shop and retiring as an account manager.
Prior to their relocation to Wisconsin, Henry worked as a machinist full time in Kansas City while attending Finley Engineering College full time about 2 years
Throughout his career Henry was a tool and die maker, a CNC technician, a long haul trucker, he enjoyed working with his wife Jean as a loan officer, and then as a mortgage broker
Henry was happiest when he was helping others. He was a dedicated loving husband, son, father, brother, grandpa and friend. Henry honorably stood up for what he believed was right, he imparted wisdom to his grandchildren and was influential in their lives. He will be a lasting memory in their hearts and in the hearts of all that knew him.
Henry especially loved fishing, hunting, spending time with his family. Many fond memories are of weeks in Canada fishing with his children, annual family camping trips with his children and Jean’s family. His hunting safari in Africa fulfilled a life-long dream. He served as a Deacon in the church and enjoyed offering advice and sharing his life experiences with people.
Remaining to cherish Henry’s memory are his loving wife Jean, his two Children; Nathaniel (Kim) and Nicholas (Desiree); Grandchildren; Gabrielle (Cristian), Samantha, Justice, WIllow, Wyatt and Hamilton; Great Grandchildren; Cristian Jr. and Ismael; Mother Shirley Handschke and his Sister Deena Oungst; along with numerous friends and family members.
Preceded in death by his Father, Clarence Handschke and Brother in Law, Tom Oungst.
