Irma Vela

Irma was a loving mother to her two daughters, Vashtii and Iris and six grandchildren Jathen, Judi, Julius, Aubrey, Diego and Hazel. She loved music and art. Irma was very creative and talented with an amazing gift of drawing. She will be remembered for her unique voice, kind embrace, and ability to spread faith and love with those around her.

Irma is survived by her husband, Joe Vela; siblings Maria Elena De Leon, Rosa Maria Torres, Ofelia Casarez, Rosie Reyes, Francisco Casarez, and Rene Casarez.

Irma is preceded in death by her mother, Elvia Perez Casarez and father ,Guadalupe Casarez.

A visitation for Irma will be held Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM. to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A funeral mass will occur Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 322 S Vermont Avenue, Mercedes, Texas 78570 followed by a burial at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559.
