Juan Morales Macias

Juan was born on July 10, 1951 in Valle Hermoso,Tamaulipas, Mexico and was the youngest son of seven children born to Emiliano and Leonor Macias. Juan emigrated to the United States and settled in Harlingen, Texas where he met his wife of fifty years, Herlinda. Together they raised their three children, Yvonne, Juan Jr, and Yessenia. Juan loved working with his hands and spent years working in construction, carpentry and as a master mechanic. He also enjoyed restoring trucks and his beloved tractor. Juan never met a stranger and could go just about anywhere and make new friends.

Juan was preceded in death by his father, Emiliano Garza Macias, his mother, Leonor Morales Macias, his siblings, Maria Luisa Anguiano, Mario Macias, Delia Valdez and Jesus Macias.

Left behind with cherished memories is his loving wife, Herlinda Macias, his children: Yvonne Macias, Juan Jr. and Laisa Macias, Yessenia and Ignacio Sauceda. Juan will forever be remembered as “Grandpa One” by his grandchildren: Iliana Martinez, Leah Sauceda and Lucia Sauceda. He also leaves behind his brothers: Eloy Macias Sr and Manuel Delgado Jr., his sister: Silvia de Dios, as well as many family members and friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 9:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harlingen, Texas. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.

The Macias family would like to extend their gratitude to the MICU department at Valley Baptist Medical Center for their loving care during his short stay there.
