Margene Blanche Creamer, passed away on the evening of 9 January 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in Treasure Hills Residential Homes in Harlingen Texas, surrounded by her daughter Kathlyn, and many close friends.
Known for her selfless nature and concern for others, Margene will be dearly missed by all who knew her in the small communities surrounding Black Earth, Wisconsin, and the residents of the Eastgate Mobile Home and RV park in Harlingen, Texas.
Margene and her husband Floyd were part of the initial cadre of Emergency Medical Technicians attached to the Black Earth Volunteer Fire Department. She loved her time as an ambulance driver, responding to local medical emergencies. She owned and operated Margene’s Black Earth Café, for many years in the 80s and 90s, and enjoyed making early morning breakfast for all the deer hunters each deer season. In 1975, Margene started the local tradition of Taco Tuesdays at Black Earth Lanes, which she and Floyd owned for 19 years. People came from miles away to taste and then grow to love her tacos. She hand-fried every taco shell, and summertime sales often exceeded 60 dozen tacos sold each Tuesday night! During her golden years, Margene loved traveling, playing cards and dancing with Floyd, the love of her life
Margene’s family ask that she be remembered for the service she gave to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Wendell and Blanche Dungan, her sister Myrlen Crow, her husband of 63 years, Floyd Earl Creamer and her son Jubal T. Creamer. She is survived by her sons Kelley Rex and Floyd Earl Jr. and daughter Kathlyn Margene Glinski, and three grandchildren, Sarah Marshall Terrell, David Allen Schultz Jr. and Caprice Kathlyn George, and three great grandchildren.
Born on 10 October 1932, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, Margene lived her school years in the San Bernardino area of southern California. In lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, please make a donation in her name to the charity of your choice supporting the people devastated by the January 2025, fires in southern California.
There will be a service at the Wesley Methodist Church, in Harlingen Texas, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Eastgate Mobile Home Park on 12 April 2025.
