

Maria Antonia Garcia, age 85, passed away of natural causes surrounded by her family members in San Marcos, TX. She was born in Hidalgo, Tamaulipas, was raised by her mother, Senobia, and Step-father Seferino Ramirez (both deceased) in La Feria, Texas. Maria was a loving mother of seven and adoring wife of her deceased husband, Agustin Garcia.
Maria was a faithful servant to the St. Francis Xavier Church. She was a Eucharist minister for many years and visited the sick to administer the Holy Communion sacrament with the Gospel. In 1987 a highlight for Maria was when she was chosen to help present the eucharist sacrament to hundreds of thousands for Pope John Paul II visited San Antonio, TX. Maria was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. She was a medication aide for many years at Retama Manor Nursing Center Harlingen, Texas.
She was a self-taught seamstress, to crochet, accounting for their garage business, upholstered furniture, made ceramics, and so much more. She played multiple instruments, enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, and was life long passionate fan of WWE wrestling.
Maria is survived by her children Agustin Jaime and wife Juana Garcia, Maria Estela and husband Leo Anguiano, Ms. Carmen Garcia, Mrs. Suzanna and husband Mark Davis, Mrs. Martina and husband Dean Miller, Javier Fernando "Harvey" Garcia (deceased), and Mrs./Dr, Sarah and husband Rodolfo "Rudy" Portillo, 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She precedes Agustin Garcia husband, Javier Fernando Garcia son, Senobia and Seferino Ramirez parents, Maria Soledad "Shirley" Ramirez her sister.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Heavenly Grace Funeral home La Feria, Tx. Chapel B, Thursday 2/24/2022 at 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass 10:00 am St Francis Catholic Church
Burial: 11:00 am at Rest Lawn Memorial Park La Feria, TX.
Pallbearers: Michael "Mike" Manuel Perez, Luis Manuel Gonzales Jr, Adan Gonzales, Tomas Gutierrez, Juan Antonio "Tony" Garcia, Jesse Rodriguez Jr., Michael "Mikie" Perez alternate.
