Maria M Martinez

Maria was a devoted woman of faith and a proud member and founder of Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel in Harlingen, Texas. Her life was deeply rooted in her Christian beliefs, which she lived out daily through her kindness, compassion, and service to others.

She found great joy in baking, caring for her yard and plants, and most importantly, caring for those around her. Maria was known for always putting the needs of others before her own. She cherished spending time with her nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own children, often enjoying simple moments together at the park.

Maria had a warm and loving personality, and she was known for affectionately calling everyone “mijita” and “mijito,” a reflection of her nurturing spirit and the love she shared with all who knew her.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; her sisters, Florentina Perez, Elvira Olvera and Graciela Calderon; and her brother, Juan Olvera.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul Martinez; her parents, Prudencia Reyes and Juan Olvera; her brother, Atilano Olvera; and her sisters, Maria de la Luz Olvera and Dora Bueno.

Maria’s legacy of faith, love, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559, on March 23, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (next day). A Prayer service will be held on March 23, 2026, at 7pm, and a Chapel Service will be held on March 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow on March 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
