Mildred (Mickey) Maxine McClure of Harlingen, TX went home to Heaven on August 30, 2024 after an extended illness. She leaves behind 5 children, Donna Moors of Harlingen, TX, Kerry McClure of Lumber City, Georgia, Connan McClure of Columbus, Ohio, Jennifer Hohman of Estacada, Oregon and Wakefield Mahon of Baltimore, MD. She is predeceased by a son, Michael McClure. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She loved hearing their latest accomplishments and sharing their pictures.
Mickey was born Jan. 5, 1942 to H.E and Lucille Green. She leaves one brother Dennis Hughey of El Paso, TX and is predeceased by a brother, Gene Hughey. Mickey received Jesus Christ as her Savior on a Sunday morning service at a Baptist Church in Odessa, TX at the age of 14. She married Donald McClure on Jan. 22, 1959 in Abilene, TX at North Park Baptist Church. She worked in various medical positions and as a bookkeeper. Mickey loved music and crafts. she was a avid reader and a member of Mensa. She was always striving to learn new things like languages, math concepts, and art.
Her friends and family will miss her but rejoice in knowing she is with Christ and no longer in pain.
A service for Mickey will be held from 10AM-12:30 PM at Central Baptist Church, 122 W. Filmore Ave, Harlingen, TX 78559 on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024.
