Olga Gutierrez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 12, 1941, Olga devoted her life to her faith in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, she exemplified love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Olga had a deep love for music, which brought joy to her life, and she cherished her many travels, especially those to Mexico, where she connected with her roots. Above all, she adored spending time with her family and was the cornerstone of their lives. Her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Apolonio Gutierrez Sr. and Rosa de la Garza, as well as her siblings: Roberto Gutierrez, Roel Gutierrez, Apolonio Gutierrez Jr., Adalia Rivera, and Rosa Gonzales.
Olga is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jose Humberto Garcia Sr., and their children: Norma (Lionel) Villarreal, Luis Enrique (San Juanita) Garcia, Jose Humberto (Lori) Garcia Jr., Veronica Garcia, Iris (Juan) Infante, and Irasema (Enrique) Garcia Hernandez. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; Clarissa (Richard) Garcia-Aguilar, Jocelyn (Kent) Lam, Bianca Pedraza, Cameron Palomo, Caleb Palomo, Brandon Garcia, Nyssa (Travis) Garcia-Cromwell, Amanda Garcia, Patrick Garcia, Eric Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Joseph Hernandez, Jaden Hernandez, and Ema Hernandez. Olga also leaves 4 great-grandchildren; Lazaro Castro IV, Benjamin Castro, Nicholas Castro, and Richard Aguilar Jr. as well as one great-great-grandchild on the way! She leaves behind her loving sister, Amalia Gutierrez, and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home in La Feria, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas. Burial will follow at Heavenly Grace Cemetery in La Feria, Texas.

Olga’s life was a testament to faith, love, and devotion. She will forever be remembered for the joy she brought to all those around her. May she rest in eternal peace.
