Patty A Holmes

April 5, 1937 – January 6, 2026

Patty Ann Holmes, age 88, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. Patty Ann was born on April 5, 1937, to Jim and Sadie Tryon in Minatare, Nebraska. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1955 and went on to attend Scottsbluff Community College, where she earned her teaching certificate. Pat taught school in both Scottsbluff and Alliance, Nebraska.

On August 19, 1956, Pat married the love of her life, Ray Holmes. From this union, they were blessed with two sons, Vance and Bryon. Pat devoted her life to her family and spent many joyful days attending school events, hiking mountain trails, fishing, and antelope hunting together.

Along with her busy family life, Pat had a varied and accomplished career. She was a licensed real estate agent in both Kansas and Florida and served as an executive secretary to two different school superintendents and a hospital administrator.

Pat is survived by her loving husband, Ray Holmes; her sons, Vance (Susan) Holmes and Bryon Holmes; her five grandchildren, Chelsea (Michael) Voth , Sterling Holmes, Luke Holmes, Holli Holmes, and Spencer Holmes; her two great-grandchildren, James Voth and Nolan Voth; her brother, Spencer (Jean) Tryon; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pat will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.

No services will be held at this time; a memorial service will take place on a later date.
