Penny Jo Kleeman

Penny Jo Kleeman, age 65, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away March 9, 2017. Penny was born on Valentine’s Day 1952 in Maquoketa, Iowa. After graduating from Maquoketa High School in 1970, Penny attended St. Luke’s Nursing School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Penny worked for 43 years as a registered nurse. During her career, Penny worked at many places, including: Valley Baptist Medical Center; Golden Palms; Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District, and the Veteran’s Affairs Administration. Penny spent her last 15 years working with her second family at Harlingen Medical Center.

Penny is survived by: sons Michael (Megan) Mazik and Nicholas Mazik; sisters Connie (Alex) Herriges, Susan (Michael) Mitchell, and Amy (Jeff) Murphy; granddaughters Lauren and Ellie, and; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Mona Kleeman.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 3:00pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1406 E. Austin Avenue, Harlingen, TX. Local arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory. (956)797-5500. A memorial service will be held in Iowa at a later date.
