

Ricarda Media, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on August 29, 1953, in Harlingen, Texas, and was the oldest daughter in a family of six children. From a young age, Ricarda embraced a role of responsibility and nurturing, often acting as a second mother to her siblings. This early dedication to family instilled in her a lifelong passion for caregiving and a fierce devotion to those she loved.
As a young mother, Ricarda found joy in the little things—sewing beautiful outfits for her oldest daughter and baking delicious treats that became a comforting staple in her household. Her love for her children and her commitment to creating a warm, loving home were central to her life.
Ricarda worked for over 20 years at Gorges Quick to Fix meatpacking plant, where she formed lasting friendships with her coworkers. In addition to her job, she found joy in selling Mary Kay cosmetics on the side, relishing the opportunity to attend conventions and travel. These experiences brought her great happiness and allowed her to connect with people in ways that reflected her outgoing and caring nature.Later in life, Ricarda shifted to a new chapter as a custodian, where she continued to demonstrate her hardworking spirit and dedication.
Ricarda poured her time and energy into her church, a place where her faith flourished. She spent countless hours attending events, reading her Bible, and filling her home with the sounds of gospel music. Ricarda remained a steadfast presence in her church community, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Ricarda’s love for family extended beyond her children and grandchildren. She cherished moments spent playing chalupa with family and friends, creating bonds over shared laughter and friendly competition.
Ricarda leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience. Ricarda is survived by her son Jose Delgado; her daughter Anna Mendoza; her son Adrian Cepeda; and her daughter Roxanne Martinez; her brother Ramiro Medina, her sister Lucia Palacios, her sister Alicia Gonzalez and her brother Rene Medina.
Ricarda was preceded in death by her father Victor Medina and her mother Francisca Camargo; her sister Ramona Martinez; her sister Raquel Medina; her brother Victoriano Medina and her sister Juanita Donez.
Ricarda also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family invites all who knew Ricarda to join them in celebrating her life and the love she shared with so many. A visitation for Ricarda will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a burial at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, 14166 US-83 BUS, La Feria, TX 78559.
Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones and her faith.
