Sonia Salazar Diaz, 72, entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Valley Baptist Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Roseanne (Marcos) Carmona of Harlingen; her sons, Richard Anthony Diaz of Harlingen, and Eugene (April) Diaz of San Antonio; and her beloved grandchildren, Alexia Monique Carmona, Rylie Addyson, and Ryan Edward Diaz. She is preceded in death by her parents, Idolina Candanoza Salazar and Jesus Aguirre Salazar. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 1 pm until 9 pm on April 26, 2016, with The recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm, in Heavenly Grace Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Heavenly Grace Chapel. The burial service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Armando Salazar, Adalberto Salazar, Alvaro Salazar, Richard Anthony Diaz, Eugene Diaz, Marcos G. Carmona, and Juan Santiago Salazar, all are honored to be serving as Sonia's pallbearers. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory, a Dignity memorial provider.
