

Originally from New York City, Thomas later made La Feria, Texas his home. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Thomas proudly served in the United States military and went on to dedicate over 40 years as a ham radio operator and instructor. He also served as an Emergency Coordinator for the Rio Grande Valley, working closely with the community and the American Red Cross, where he helped teach CPR classes. He was actively involved in local organizations, including coaching Little League baseball for over a decade and participating in church and community programs.
Known for his kindness and generosity, Thomas always opened his home to those in need. He enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Tanner; his children, Tom Jr. (Andrea), Dawn (Danny), Allan (Daniela), and Mark (Jennifer); his sister, Jo Ann; and his sister-in-law, Judy Tanner. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Anna Tanner, his son Jerry Tanner, and his brother Harry Tanner.
Thomas will be remembered for his loving heart, dedication to family, and service to his community..
