Tirso Javier Cantu

Tirso Javier Cantu (Mono), 49, passed away on July 10, 2022, in Harlingen, TX after a long illness. He was born on August 15, 1972, and raised in Galveston, TX by his parents Juan and Sanjuana Cantu with his siblings.

Tirso loved to laugh, draw, and watch horror movies, which he passed down to his three children. He was a great listener, always tried to make the best out of any situation and faced every challenge in life with admirable strength, courage, and optimism. Even in his last days, Tirso had such a positive and selfless attitude. His only concern was for the family and friends he would be leaving behind.

Tirso is survived by daughters Christina Richardson and Bianca Cantu; son Brandon Cantu Castillo and sisters Samantha Vasquez and Brittany Castillo; grandchildren Alaric and Analilith; mother Sanjuana Cantu; sisters Maria Magdalena Vela, Maria Yolanda Ellas, and Daniella Cecilia Garcia; brothers Juan Jose Jr (Pepe), Gabriel Agusto (Pon), Michael and Joaquin Alonso Cantu; and many other beloved family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Tirso is now reunited with his father Juan Jose Sr. and his youngest brother Marco Antonio Cantu, who he missed very much.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 3pm-10pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX 78559.
