Born April 13, 1916 to Elmore and Maude Handley Slack in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Louise celebrated her 104th birthday last month in Richwood Nursing and Rehab. She was the oldest resident in the facility, but remained coy about her age. She often said, “A woman who will tell her age will tell anything.”
Beloved mother of Gail (Harvey), grandmother of Michael (Janet), Rodney (Dana), and Gaylord (Claudia). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A fun grandmother, she is lovingly remembered for playfulness, runny scrambled eggs, holiday oyster stew, and wonderful Christmas presents. Louise was an active woman who liked to be on the move visiting friends and enjoying life. Her energetic and friendly personality made her an excellent waitress, a favorite of many during her working years. She was a member of the LaGrange Presbyterian Church.
A private family service will be held and she will be interred at the Elizabethtown Cemetery, laid to rest among family.
