He was born on May 6, 1937 to the late William Isaac and Falsom L Evans Casey in Morgantown, Kentucky.
Bob was a member at Eastpoint Community Church and the Beulah 896 Masonic Lodge. A proud US Army Veteran, Bob served in the Kentucky National Guard. He retired from General Electric as the Chief Union Steward with the Local 761 IUE-CWA after 39 years of service! He enjoyed fishing, especially on Patoka Lake where he had a lakehouse. Bob also liked to hunt for rabbits and birds and take care of his garden, once planting 80 tomato plants!
He is preceded in death by his parents, including the father who raised him, Clarence Mitchell; and siblings, Tyrone Mitchell, Gil Mitchell, and Fiona Sue Mitchell Taylor.
Left to cherish the memory of Bob are his wife of 68 years, Rachel Casey; daughter, Kelly Woods (David); grandchildren, Kasey Woods and Karmen Woods; extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange at 11am with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30 pm and Thursday morning from 10am until the start of the service.
