She was a member of Lyndon Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Geneva was also a member of The Iris Society, Homemakers and the Knitting Club at her church. She retired from Central State Hospital after 34 years of service and managed the Senior and Community Gardens at Black Acre Conservancy.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 31 years, Bill Hawkins; sisters, Edna Bowlin and Dorothy Hopkins; and brother, Earl Coffey.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Mike Coffey (Cindy), Diane Constant (Kim), Paula Coates (Barry), Donna Adair (Wes), Tina Sullivan (Tim), James Bowlin (Kelly), Benny Bowlin (Bea), Ann Rowan (Ray), Laura Sulligan (Al) and Gail Lujan; and sister-in-law, Judy Coffey.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery. Visitation from 10 until service time on Saturday.
