He was born to the late William Henry and Ruth Mae (Gough) Gray in Clarksville, TN on July 23, 1948.
Herbert was a member of Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of NABVETS.
He is preceded in death by his brothers; William Franklin Gray, Thomas L Gray, and Eddie Darnell Gray and sisters; Joyce Marie Gray, Marilyn Vanessa Gray.
Left to cherish the memory of Herbert are his wife of 9 years; Kathleen Cursh-Gray, brothers; Kenneth E Gray and Michael Gray (Wanda), sibling-in-laws; Norman Thomas, Flora Lewis (James), Billy Thomas (Virginia) and Patricia Mosby, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of Herbert's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2023 at 1pm at Heady-Radcliffe, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031 with burial to follow at Eminence Cemetery. The family will accept visitors from 11am until the start of the service at the funeral home.
