Many years and miles have passed since I last saw Mrs. Ellis. Still, wonderful memory of her still resonate within me. She was kind and a lovely lady with the voice of an angel. I vividly recall her beautiful choir voice at Ballardsville Baptist in the late 50's early 60's singing "His Eye Is On The Sparrow". Now, she is kindly looking down on us all from Heaven above. Rest in Peace dear one, and may God bless her loving family always.

Mrs. Ellis was a pure delight!  That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of her.  My sister-in-law and I visited her every year when we came to Shelbyville for my S-I-L's high school reunion.  Her daughter, Marian, is a close friend here in Panama City.  We would stop at Wal-Mart and buy her a plant or two and visit because we didn't like to go empty-handed.  Mrs. Ellis had that corner of her kitchen where her plants sat in the sun.  We took pictures, and she regaled us with stories of her life, and then she would say, "What's happening in your world?"  Nothing as fun or interesting ever happened to us like the things that happened to her, and she hardly ever left home!  Before we left, Mrs. Ellis liked us to sing hymns with her.  She would play the piano and we would all sing together.  Then we would have prayer, and we'd leave the hilltop home of Katherine Ellis amidst the cows and cow patties!  How we will miss her and those yearly visits.  Marian, Billie, Doris and Hobart - you were very fortunate to have had such a lovely lady as your mother. Bruce (deceased 1993) and I always enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Ellis.  Katherine always had joyful and happy things to share with us - especially about her wonderful family, her church and her Lord.  She was always a delight and loved life.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.  We'll probably be able to hear her singing in the angelic choir!  God bless.

My dad, Jesse Daugherty was her uncle and we would visit from time to time. She was a wonderful fun-loving person and kept her friends and family close to her heart. God got a great flower for his garden. Rest in peace my wonderful lady.

Ms Katherine was a wonderful lady  - such spunk and spirit.  I always looked forward to spending time with her when she visited Hobert & Wayne.  She is truly one of the great ones!  Love to you both, Hobert & Wayne.

Ms Katherine was a beautiful person, inside and out. We were very blessed to be able to share our friendship with her. When she was able to come to our home, we enjoyed talking and working puzzles together; she enriched our lives as she did so many. May God surround you and Wayne in his loving arms at this difficult time. Although will sadly miss her sweet presence, we know she is singing praises in heaven to our Lord and experiencing no more pain. You both will be in our prayers

I met Katherine several times at Hobert and Wayne's home here in Richmond. Her soft kindness and unconditional love for people made me realize why I have so much admiration and brotherly love for Hobert. He inherited these traits and will carry her spirit on here on earth. My love to you my dear friends, Hobert and Wayne See you on Saturday at the service.

I met Katherine through Hobert about a year or so ago..we knew alot of the same folks from the North Rolling Fork area near Gravel Switch, KY.. she loved to write beautiful cards, and always remembered my birthday, and even called me to personally wish me a happy birthday.. her wonderful memories will live on in our hearts of this dear southern lady, who shared her love unconditionally  with everyone..Greg Robertson
