Kathy Lynn Savage

Kathy “Kat” Lynn Savage, 65, entered into eternity on March 6, 2026. Born on February 6, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert Odis McMellon and Nancy Jo (Byford) McMellon.

Kathy faithfully served as the Administrative Assistant for Online Learning at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where she enjoyed everyday of the 26 years she spent loving on the students and her colleagues. During her years at the seminary, she became known not only for her dedication and professionalism, but also for the compassion and faith she brought to her work each day. She had a true servant’s heart, consistently putting others before herself—especially the students she supported over more than two decades of faithful service.

To many, Kathy was far more than a colleague. She was a prayer warrior, a spiritual encourager, and a steady source of hope through life’s ups and downs. Her life was a daily reflection of her Christian faith, and she joyfully walked that path with humility, kindness, and unwavering trust in the Lord.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Anthony “Tony” Charles Savage; their children, Andrew Lee, Lynna Lee, Anthony Silvaggio, Suzanne Savage, Christine Savage, and Justin Eichholtz; 7 grandchildren; her sister, Melinda Guccione (Ronald); brother-in-law, Michael Savage (Carol Lynn); nieces and nephews, Eric, Natalie, Michael, Paul, Karl, and Carolyn; her cherished Southern Baptist Seminary family; extended family; and the many friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, encouragement, and steadfast faith.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to LaGrange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Parkway, LaGrange, KY 40031 where Kathy enjoyed leading her bible study class and growing her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Though she will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved Kathy take comfort in the promise of eternity and the legacy of faith, love, and service she leaves behind.
