He was born to the late Clarence and Helen Allen on August 5, 1947 in Central City, KY.
Lawrence was a self-employed carpet installer for 50+ years who taught many his trade over the years. He enjoyed anything having to do with water; boating, fishing, and swimming. Lawrence loved taking his Honda Shadow for rides especially to Dairy Queen. He never met a stranger and indulged in the slot machines at Belterra and his Western and old war movies. Pitching baseballs to his kids and watching the Cincinnati Reds.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his children; Betty Dianne Allen, brother; Charles Allen (Betty) and nephew; Robbie Wade.
Left to cherish the memory of Lawrence are his children; Gina Kleinhenz (Mark), Larry Allen Jr., and Leslie Allen, grandsons; Nick Kleinhenz (Brittney) and Maddox Allen, great-granddaughter on the way; Sable Mae Kleinhenz, sisters; Dorothy Wade (Robert Sr) and Christine Woodcock, nieces and nephews; Debbie, Timmy, Renee, Amy, and Travis, beloved chihuahua; Charlie, extended family and friends.
A celebration of Lawrence's life will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange with burial to follow at Valley of Rest. Visitation will be from 10am until the start of the service.
