

Originally from Detroit, Michigan and later Florida, she had been a Kentucky resident for 20 years. After high school graduation she studied voice at the Detroit Conservatory of Music and worked for the Army Air Corps during WWII. While with the Air Corps she won a beauty contest, "Miss Winged Victory," and became a nationwide poster girl for a national war bond drive. Following the war she married and became a full-time homemaker. During their 35 years of retirement, she volunteered for 15 years with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, St. Elizabeth's Hospital and the Parish Kitchen. She also became a Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years; Col Paul Hunt, USAF Retired, daughter; Bonnie Hiatt (Dave) of Florence, Kentucky, son; Joel Hunt (Tara) of Miramar, Florida, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service with internment to follow will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 12:30pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home of LaGrange, Kentucky.
