On January 30, 2026, Rebecca “Becky” Joy Franklin, age 38, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Crestwood, Kentucky. Becky was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose life touched many.
She is survived by her loving parents, Steve and Beth Franklin; her sister Mary and brother-in-law Anthony Basaba. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, Solomon, Annet, Hannah, and Micah.
Becky was known for her adventurous spirit, her creativity, and her unwavering faith. She shared the love of Jesus Christ with everyone she met, often saying that her poor health condition gave her a mission field to encourage others with the peace that only comes from Jesus.
Her hobbies reflected her artistic soul—she loved cake and cookie decorating, knitting, beadwork, stenciling, embroidery, and countless other crafts. Becky’s kindness, joy, and devotion will be remembered by all who knew her.
We are encouraged by Romans 8:38-39
For I am sure that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither the present nor the things to come, nor any powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A memorial service for Rebecca will be held at LaGrange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Pkwy, La Grange, Kentucky 40031, at 4pm with a time of memorial visitation from 3pm until the start of the service. A private graveside service will take place in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Crestwood, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Becky’s memory by helping bring family home from the mission field in Africa. Your generosity will allow loved ones to come together and celebrate God’s faithfulness during this time of remembrance.
