Richard “Dick” Tully, 82, of LaGrange, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. He was born to the late Dr. C. Carl Tully Sr. and Virginia Belle Tully in Charleston, West Virginia on March 25, 1941. He played football, basketball and baseball at South Charleston High School. He played football at the University of Tampa and was invited for tryouts by Coach Vince Lombardi (Green Bay Packers) prior to his double knee injuries. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, basketball and baseball. Dick absolutely adored his dog, Bailey. He enjoyed carpentry work and gardening.
Preceding him in death are his son; Cameron Tully, step-son; Michael Shupp, Aunt Kathleen Ryder and Aunt Jackie Ewing Holmes.
Left to cherish the memory of Richard are his wife of 39 ½ years; Janet Tully, Daughters; Kara Waite (Tim), Amanda Fulmer (Paul), Grandchildren; Lila Waite, Ryan Waite, Lana Fulmer, Miranda Shupp, Brother; Dr. C. Carl Tully Jr. (Faye), Special Nephew; Stu Miller (Shelley), numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kentucky Humane Society. Dick’s request for cremation will be honored.
