He was born to the late Joseph Alfred and Deanna Mae (McKnee) Minnock in Detroit, MI on November 2, 1962.
Wayne enjoyed boating and doing anything that involved being surrounded by people. Above all he was most proud to spend time with his grandkids who called him Papaw.
Wayne was a great horseman, being surrounded by horses his entire life it became second nature to care about the horses more than himself or the win. Most recently he trained for Doug Terry, having won 49 races together on tracks from Churchill Downs to Keeneland, Wayne will have the best view for their 50th win celebration.
Left to cherish the memory of Wayne are his children, Bre Minnock (Ben Willhite) and Brandon Minnock; spouse, Diane Faulkner; grandchildren, Claire Minnock, Myles Smith, and Axtyn Smith; sister, Jackie Forbes; the horse racing industry family, extended family, and friends.
A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Wayne George Minnock will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 3-7pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to PNC bank, Care of Breanne L Minnock.
