Anne opened a boutique clothing store in Oxford, NC and the went on to become a Wholesale Buyer of women’s fashion for the stylish department store Styx, Baer & Fuller in St. Louis. In 1969, she moved to Jefferson City, Missouri, after marrying the love of her life, Tom Talbot. Together, they built a life full of love, travel, and shared experiences. Anne spent many years as an Events Planner for Central Bank’s corporate headquarters, a role that allowed her to blend her organizational talents with her natural grace.
A lifelong member of Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City, Anne contributed to her community in ways both large and small. She was a dedicated volunteer of several organizations, including Capital Region Medical Center (board member), the Missouri Historical Society, and various charity golf tournaments.

She was always ahead of her time, with a playlist that included everything from Joan Baez to Dire Straits and Pink Floyd to Guns N’ Roses. Anne’s social life revolved around her many interests, including her active membership at Jefferson City Country Club, where she enjoyed golfing and the camaraderie of friends. Even in her later years, she appreciated watching the game. A skilled and competitive card player, Anne excelled at Bridge and Mahjong, but her favorite card games were the ones played with her grandchildren, especially Deuces Wild, which became a cherished tradition in her family.
Anne was also an ardent supporter of the University of Missouri and the Kansas City Chiefs, never missing an opportunity to wear the most stylish team accessories while cheering on her favorite teams.
For many years, Tom and Anne spent their winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they forged lifelong friendships and made memories that would last a lifetime. Anne was known for her elegance, style, and grace—traits she carried in every aspect of her life, whether hosting gatherings, attending events, or simply sharing quiet moments with loved ones. Even in her final days, she was impeccably put together every day.
Above all, Anne cherished her role as "Grandma." She shared unique and special bonds with her four grandchildren, and her love for them was a central part of her life. Her grandchildren—Thomas Robert Talbot IV, William Wallace Talbot II, Anna Kathleen Talbot, and Ayres Kelly Talbot—will forever carry on her legacy, with Ayres and Anna Kate lovingly known as “The Little Othas” for embodying Anne’s spirit and spunk.
