Adventure and passion characterized Katie’s life. A dancer and painter, Katie poured herself into artistic and musical creative endeavors from an early age. She had a special love for the outdoors and nature, enjoying all kinds of recreation on the lake, creeks, and hills around Spicewood. A graduate of Lake Travis High School, she delved into creative expression and subjects pertaining to science, math, writing, food, health, and art. She was beloved by her friends for her enthusiasm, curiosity, eccentricity, and delicious sense of humor; and admired by all for her curiosity and fierce pursuit of adventure. Talented and intelligent, she never failed to support and uplift others. Both the light and dark facets of this beautiful life equally captivated her. Described as "an entire Cirque du Soleil show wrapped into one person," Katie was a true artist and one of the truest friends you could ever have.
How we will sorely miss her kind and open soul here on the planet, and look forward to meeting her again somewhere out there!
Katie is survived by her parents, Bill and Jen; her brothers, Will and Henry; her four grandparents; 13 aunts and uncles; and 17 cousins.
