Creedena Gayle Sachse passed away suddenly on December 18, 2019. Creedena was born August 17, 1937 to Gilbert and Eileen Foster in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She graduated from Austin High in El Paso, Texas where she met and married the love of her life Norman Sachse. They were married 64 years and were truly blessed to be in love and best friends all those years. She often joked that she made such a great decision at such a young age to marry Norman and that she made the right choice.
Creedena’s first job was working for Kemp Smith Law firm in El Paso where she worked until her first child was born and then filled in for them on and off for many years while living in El Paso. Once she had her children, they became her most important job in which she cherished until the day she passed. She was the best mother in the world and did her job better than all others. She loved all her family above anything in this world. Second to her husband, children, grandchildren and friends was her love of nature. When moving from El Paso to Austin she chose Lakeway because of its beauty and wildlife. The moment she saw the deer she knew that’s where she wanted to build her home and spend the rest of her life. Her favorite place next to Hawaii, was being on her deck feeding her squirrels and enjoying her beautiful plants and pool. Creedena had Multiple Sclerosis for over 42 years but she woke up every day with a smile, eager to take on the day without complaint. Her courage and strength in the face of such a debilitating illness made her a hero in the eyes of most everyone she knew. MS did not define her. She did volunteer work for Lakeway Service League for many years which she truly loved and was honored for her service. Her strive to do all and everything she could was beyond astonishing.
Throughout her life she had many cherished friends but among those was her best friend from childhood Mary Campbell who she knew from the time she was born. They grew up together in Carlsbad. Creedena went to Mary’s first birthday and they were best friends for over 82 yrs. Her husband’s cousin Gail became her next lifetime confidant and true friend, practically growing up together as well. She stayed connected to her pen pal from high school, Dorothy throughout her life, meeting up a few times and remaining beloved friends. She had far more friends to mention but these stood out throughout her life.
Creedena is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Eileen Foster. She is survived by her loving husband Norman Sachse, her brother Gib Foster and wife Carol, her son Curtis Sachse and Wife Linda, her grandchildren Amanda Kieren and husband Jessie, Matthew Sachse, Malinda Cline and husband Stephen and Makenzie Paull and her daughter Dawn Sachse, along with multiple cousins and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all our family, friends and neighbors for their support. A memorial service will be scheduled for a date in January.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd., Lakeway, TX 78734
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, St. Jude’s or a charity of your choice.
