Not a day goes by without us thinking of our marvelous friend and colleague.  Her caring spirit is with us always.   Colleen made the world a better place for so many people💞 thank you, Colleen.

On behalf of the men and women of Lake Travis Fire Rescue and former members of the Hudson Bend Vol. Fire Department, I want to take this moment to offer our deepest condolences to you all as you mourn the passing of Colleen. Colleen touched many lives during her career in a way that provided comfort, healing, and guidance. I, personally, can attest to her consultation as she helped me navigate a number of organizational dynamics when the department was growing. She guided me around the land mines whenever she could and for that I am, and will always be, deeply appreciative. 

During her service to the community in many of her different roles, she was a professional through and through. She served as a mentor to some of the younger members of the department and guided many on the steps to take to become a paramedic. There are people walking this earth today because Colleen was there to save them and make a positive mark on their lives. 

Colleen called me a few months ago to thank one of our crews for helping her at her home. We took that time to catch up and took a stroll down memory lane. Our careers overlapped for just a short few years, but it was in those years I learned a great deal from her. Thank you for sharing her with us and the community. She will not be forgotten.

Tim and I met the Starks way back when Craig, Scott, and Katie began kindergarten together.  We shared so many memorable times!!!
Colleen, you were a sweet and dear friend  -- bigger than life with a quick wit, generous, funny, caring and adventurous.  I know  you loved your family above all else.

Colleen and I have been friends since Jessica was 3 years old.
The photograph I share was taken October 2020 at their Voca, Texas ranch house.  I hope for all who read this,  we can all be as compassionate, kind, loving, hard working, positive and touch so many peoples lives in one way or another and reflect those qualities and so many more we learned from Colleen.  My heart is heavy but strong in faith. Colleen was my "adopted sister".  I have a lifetime of expressions about her, If you knew Colleen, then you know what I am saying.  To Allan, Craig, Deborah and Jessica you already know how much your family meant to me. I loved Colleen and I love each of you. Your mom was the "glue" that brought everyone together.
 I was fortunate to have called her often right up to her last week on earth. She said " Elizabeth I am just so tired, really tired I can barely talk".  I said I know Colleen. I love you.  I hope we all CALL , and GO visit people we care about; not text, not emoji.  Don't put it off.   I will cherish her voiced words to me.   Our time here is short.   My life was better knowing Colleen Stark. 


Colleen, I knew you only through working at Travis County.  You helped me grow in my EMS career.   Colleen you encouraged me to keep going and keep working.  

Your smile, laughter, and positive attitude at everything you did was amazing.   You were not only a  co-worker, you were a friend and one of the greatest motivators  I've had the pleasure of working with.

I've read some of the comments folks have left.  I understand how you  will be missed and how you touched their lives.  Rest in Peace my Friend.  I appreciated everything  you did for me.   Rest in Peace...Till we meet again 🙏

The world down here is a little dimmer, but Heaven has the brightest light now.  You  were a beam of sunshine  to all you met.  Thank you for being  such a wonderful role model for me growing up and into adulthood. Your heart had so much love for everyone and  I admired that so much. I miss you and even though my heart hurts, I know you are rejoicing in Heaven and reunited with all of our love ones.

My heart breaks for Colleen’s family and friends. There was only one, and she leaves a huge emptiness in our hearts; but our hearts are left with the love, laughter and sweet memories she shared with us.   Buffy: thank you for being there, for being my rock, and sharing the most unbelievable memories filled with so much love and laughter - New York, Dallas, Miami, Port A, Houston, Corpus, even CPKAustin all have been marked by our fun and memories, and of course a couple of margaritas, or Bombay Sapphire, or Ciroc!  Love you Buff 💗 Bitsy 

Colleen spread joy and laughter to all around her, especially her
grandchildren!  Here is her granddaughter, Emma, age 7, with her where she attended all of Emma's school plays and performances.

My heart aches for you Jess and to all your family for the loss of
your wonderful mom who was a true matriarch of the family.  She
will be with you always in love and in spirit.

Colleen was always there, always willing to help and did help so much when the boys were all little.  This picture was such a long time ago, the boys weren’t even born yet!  

Colleen was always quick with a smile and a joyful hello when we were at the yoga ranch. Her garden overflowed with the fruits of her labors and she was quick to share. “Before you leave, take some!” She was a treasure and will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss. 


Jess, Allan , Craig and Deborah our hearts are heavy for all of you . You have lost such a beautiful,  strong lady who was the center of your family .   We know you will carry on and  her grace will be ever present in your lives
