A retired Army Colonel, George dedicated 26 years of his life to his country, before starting his second career at SRA International before his ultimate retirement. Later serving as the President of the Austin Chapter of M.O.A.A the Military Officers Association of America. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed time with his family, and digging in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Marie Althea, daughter Annissa Koren (husband Corey), son Sheldon Andre (wife Sonja) and four Grandchildren; Jacob, McKenzie, Kendall and Sydney
His earthly body will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA later this year. Locally a full Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 N FM 620, Austin, Texas 78726 on Monday, February 7th at 11:00 am. A viewing is scheduled prior to the mass at 10:00 am for all wishing to pay their final respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Austin Chapter of the American Cancer Association in his name.
