She graduated from University High School and attended McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. After spending time working in Pensacola, Fl and then raising her two boys in Katy, Texas from 1970 – 1997, Jan and her husband Dennis Libby moved closer to her sister and parents in the Texas Hill Country. She spent the remainder of her career with the Briarcliff Property Owners' Association.
While in retirement, what brought Jan the most joy was discussing her faith in God, spending time with and seeing her family grow. She remained actively engaged with her entire family whether it was traveling with us, making sure we all returned home safely from any activities/trips, attending events for the kids, walking us thru a cherished recipe, checking up on our gardens and pets, and making sure we always watched out for the weather. No matter the topic of conversation, they always ended with “I Love You!”
Jan was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Dennis Libby on October 19, 2015.
She is survived by her two sons; Sean Cooper and his wife Jillian of Leander, Jonathan (Jon) Cooper and his wife Christina of Cedar Park; five grandchildren; Faith Cooper, Nicholas Cooper, Quinn Cooper, Camden Cooper, and Jack Cooper; her sister Paula Bittles and her husband Bill Bittles of Spicewood.
A private family celebration of life will take place in Spicewood, Texas. In lieu of sending flowers, plant some sunflowers in your own garden, or consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
