

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jeannine Gladys Shinstine. Jeannine died peacefully on March 19th, 2022, at Hill Country Nursing Home. Jeannine was born on July 19th, 1929 in North Loup, Nebraska to George and Grace Claussen. She spent most of her life living in Des Moines, Iowa. However, for the past five years, she lived in Austin, Texas to be close to her family.
Jeannine married Joseph Cash in 1948 in Grand Island, Nebraska. They raised three children: Joe Jr., Cathi and Carrie. The family eventually settled in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeannine was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom until her children became teenagers. She would then work as a secretary/bookkeeper at various companies in the Des Moines area. Jeannine married Eddie Shinstine in 1969. They owned several businesses together in Des Moines, Iowa, Florida and Arizona. Eddie passed in March 2005 in Arizona. Jeannine enjoyed travelling, playing bridge, reading and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. In 2007, she and Jack Van Cleve moved to Pleasant Hill, Iowa where they lived until 2017 when Jack passed away. She then moved to Austin, Texas to live with her daughter, Cathi and son-in-law, Mike Mojica.
Jeannine leaves behind her three children: Joe Jr., Cathi and Carrie; her four grandchildren: Michael Mojica, Ryan Mojica, Camela Mojica-Berta and Hunter Cash; her three great grandchildren: Alyssa Mojica, Tanner Mojica-Berta and Maverick Mojica. Jeannine also leaves behind a son-n-law, Mike Mojica; two grand daughter-n-laws, Nicole Mojica and Nicole Barnett and a grand son-n-law, Tom Berta. She will be truly missed by her entire family.
Jeannine’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. In lieu of a traditional funeral, her family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial on Sunday, April 3rd at Weed-Corley-fish Funeral Home from two o’clock until four in the Lakeway facility.
