

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2nd with a Trisagion Prayer Service beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 RR 620 South in Lakeway.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 414 St. Stephens School Road, Austin. Interment will follow at Haynie Flat Cemetery in Barton Creek Lakeside in Spicewood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church (https://transfiguration.org)
John was the dear husband of Carolyn Kolber (Lacko). They were married 33 years. John and Carolyn met in the Information Technology business in Cleveland, Ohio.
John and Carolyn have three sons together: Christopher Kolber, Brian Kolber and Brandon Kolber. John was very proud of his sons, extremely fond of his daughter-in-laws, and especially enjoyed his grandsons.
John leaves one brother, Chester Kolber and one sister, Marie Changeri (deceased).
John had an amazing 36 year career in Information Technology, starting as a Systems Programmer at Blue Cross Blue Shield. John was Vice President of Information Technology for Broadview Savings & Loan. In 1985, John and Carolyn together joined Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where he held executive roles including Account Manager for Kennedy Space Center – Space Shuttle Program, Senior Director of Software Systems Engineering and New Business Development. John was also Senior Vice President at Sabre Technology Solutions. John retired from EDS/Hewlett Packard in 2008, where he had many friends and fond memories.
Together, John and Carolyn lived in Middleburg Heights, Ohio; Rochester Hills, Michigan; Titusville, Florida; Plano, Texas and most recently Austin, Texas.
John had a strong spirit and was an incredibly fun person to be with. He was lively in every conversation and was truly a people person. He made quick and meaningful friendships throughout his life. He was a tremendously loving father, and was very proud of his family.
He will be missed greatly by his Jack Russell Terrier, Spirit. They were best buddies and Spirit warmed John's heart.
John was a devoted husband and best friend to Carolyn. He provided never-ending love, support and laughter throughout their 33 year marriage. He will be missed tremendously, forever.
