

Joy was born on January 9, 1942 in Westwood, California and spent most of her youth in Council Grove, Kansas. She married Jerry Gay March 28, 1970 and they moved to Austin, Texas in 1973, where they owned and operated the Roto Rooter Company for 25 years, including two franchises in Florida.
Joy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved and was loved by many. She was so full of life and left a deep impression in the hearts of all who knew her. Joy will never be forgotten.
Joy will be greatly missed by her family: husband Jerry, son Chris and his wife Amanda, and her beloved grandchildren Wyatt and CeCelia, whom she adored. She is also survived by her mother, Madeline Ross; brothers, Rick Ross and Randy Ross with wife, Anna; sister, Penny Nelson with husband Bob; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Ross and sister, Cheri Cameron.
Joy will be remembered for her love for her family and friends, and for always sharing her warm and gracious hospitality by opening her home on special occasions. Joy's passion for travelling took her many unforgettable places. Joy was active in the community as a member of the Westlake Rotary, Women's Symphony league, and was past president of National Small Business United.
A celebration of Joy's life will be held at noon on Saturday, December 3 at Joy's home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the local fire department (Ce-BAR Fire Department; 353 S. Common's Ford Rd, 78733) for their dedicated service or the pulmonary fibrosis foundation (www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org).
