Joyce Marie Johnson

Joyce Marie Robinson Johnson, 75, of Lakeway Texas, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Lakeway Texas.

Joyce was born to Abbott and Mildred Robinson on November 9, 1947 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and was raised in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Upon graduating high school, Joyce moved to Oklahoma City to attend the Oklahoma School of Banking & Business.

Joyce met Rick Johnson on a blind date while living in Oklahoma City and the two wed in 1971. They would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary on October 15. They moved their family to Houston, Texas in 1979 and Austin, Texas in 1995. Over the span her career, Joyce worked in accounting for a variety of companies. While living in Houston, she owned and operated Bear Creek Florist. Joyce was an avid hobbyist and crafter, enjoyed playing tennis with friends and volunteering with her sons local Little League.

In her retired life, Joyce joined Rick at Lakeway Country Club, playing weekly with her women’s golf group and in countless tournaments. When not hitting golf balls, she was collecting them on her daily walks, picking-up and repurposing thousands of stray balls over the years. A fan of all card games, playing spades with her good friends was one of her most favorite pastimes. Joyce loved all major holidays, festively decorating her home for each one, but giving extra special attention to Christmas and her famous Christmas Snow Village display.

Above all, Joyce will be remembered for her sparkle and shine. Outgoing, funny and kind, Joyce never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone she met.

Joyce is survived by her husband Rick, son Jeff, his wife Deena and grandsons Nick, Carson and Jack, son Kevin, his wife Heather, and Brothers Ronald Robinson and Randy Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rhoda Jester and brother Donald Robinson.

We will miss her caring and devotion to family and friends. We love you and will miss you. You will be in our hearts forever.

Celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas.
