Georgetown, TX - Joyce Elaine Shugart, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the age of 79, at her daughter Peggy's house in Georgetown, Texas.

Joyce was born on September 27, 1943, in Austin, Texas, to the late Dorothy Hutson and Willie Albert Everhart. She lived a life filled with love and cherished moments. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Shugart (1990), her brother Bennie Everhart (2010), and her husband, JT Shugart (2022).

Joyce's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family members. She leaves behind her daughters, Peggy Harman of Georgetown, TX, Wendy Wolfe of Leander, TX, and her son, Michael Shugart of Round Rock, TX. Additionally, she is survived by her adoring grandchildren, Haley Williamson, Kristy Jeffords, Miranda Harman, David Welch, Jacob Harman, and Joey Shugart. Her legacy extends to her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Riley, Lincoln, Oliver, Benji, and Skyler.

For many years, Joyce resided in Round Rock, TX where she nurtured her love for gardening and capturing the beauty of her flowers through photography. Her passion for life was further evident in her numerous trips to Las Vegas with her dear friends Janie, Elsie and Betty. Joyce's culinary skills were renowned; her potato salad, fried chicken, and chocolate chocolate meringue pie were cherished recipes that will be passed down through generations.

Joyce's warm heart and kind spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her family and friends remember her as a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of fond memories and life lessons that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The void left by Joyce's passing will be deeply felt, but her memory will be forever cherished. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered as "Mawmaw." May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and warmth she brought to the world.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation in honor of Joyce, which will take place from 10:00 to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, located at 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, TX 78734.

Following the visitation, a heartfelt funeral service commemorating the life of Joyce Elaine Shugart will be held at the same location, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

Subsequently, a graveside service will be conducted at Fall Creek Cemetery, situated at 26683 W. State Highway 71, Spicewood, TX 78669, providing an opportunity for final farewells and a quiet moment of reflection.
