Juana Minton

Filomena (Juana) Merlin Minton, 76, of Killeen, Texas, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter, Gina Henningsen, her son, James Leach and husband Stanley Minton on October 15, 2023 after her battle with Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia.

Juana was born on May 21, 1947 to Pedro and Marcelina Edrada in Tomana, Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was deeply connected to her roots in the Philippines and deeply involved in her worship of Jehovah God.

Juana was a beautiful person inside and out. She cared deeply for people around her and made an impact on so many. She was a joyful presence and immediately lit up any room she entered with her stunning smile, her colorful clothes, beautiful hair, creative fashion choices, and bubbly personality. She loved to dance and sing, but her greatest joy was her cooking. She filled her home with warmth and kindness and when you went to visit her home, you almost always left with food to take home.

She was also talented and creative in dressmaking and crocheting everything from bedspreads to winter caps. Just like her granddaughter Audrey, her favorite color was lavender, and we would like her celebration of life to be full of vibrancy, color and joyful music. She loved life, friends and above all else, she loved her family. She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

Juana is survived by her husband Stanley Minton and her four children, daughter Gina Marie Henningsen (husband Christopher), daughter Cindy Ann Holden, son James Elgin Leach (wife Angela Lynn), daughter Jennifer Jean Thomasson; grandchildren James Christopher Kalani Leach, Dylan Keoni Leach, Audrey Marie Henningsen, James Christopher Henningsen. Forever remembered by her siblings, she is also survived by Leonides Guntrup, Carmen Powell, Benny Edrada, Cristo Edrada, Bonifacio Edrada, Bernarda Weans, Vigilia Clayton, Carlita Madarang, Alicia Dunnam, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to visitation from 12:00-1:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2023, followed by a service at 1:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish, 411 Ranch Road 620 S in Lakeway.
