
It's been 1 year since Lindsey's Memorial.  It saddens me she is no longer on this plane of existence,  but she is with The King and no longer in pain! I will always remember our fun times together. Shopping for shoes; I would buy 8 pairs, she would but 20. BOGO fascinated both of us, not to mention Clearance Isle finds, good times I will always treasure. We spoke of our lives, somewhat different,  but the same in many ways. I miss you, Lindsey, but I know we will see each other again someday.



Mrs. Gunter was one of the sweetest people I've ever known, and I am very saddened to have learned of her passing. She was my teacher in 2001 at Splendora Middle School. I loved her journaling warm-ups that we did every single morning, and the affirmations she gave to all of us in her replies. Pets were a much-loved topic of conversation. She was everyone's favorite teacher, and a kindred spirit to all. If you were talking to Mrs. Gunter, you knew you were being loved on. The world is a little less bright knowing she is no longer a part of it, but Heaven rejoices.



Lindsey had such a sweet spirit.  I know that she is rejoicing in heaven being with her sweet daughter Lacey. Both were so social and hold a treasured spot in my heart. Prayers for Greg.



My heart is so sad.  Lindsey was such a beautiful person and dear friend.  Such sweet and beautiful memories I will always have of her and our times together.  My thoughts and prayers are with you Greg.

Mr. Gunter, my heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Your wife was such a special person to so many people. I have such fond memories of growing up with Lacey and spending time at your house.  After my mom died, Mrs. Gunter reached out to me with such kindness and showed the love of Christ to me when I needed it most.  I will never, ever forget her kindness.  I know she is in the presence of Jesus in paradise now.  I can't wait to see her again someday!

My condolences to this wonderful wonans loved ones. She was great. One of the first people to reach out and make me feel welcome when I moved to Houston mid sophomore year. I know she helped many kids and I am blessed to have known such a person.



Mrs. Gunter was the most amazing person. She had so much love for everyone and always made you feel so special. She helped me so much my senior year when I had my daughter. She will truly be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Mrs. Gunter was one of my high school English teachers. She is a teacher I will never forget. Her room was so welcoming and home like. She spoke so gently. She loved all of us students so passionately. I would always write about my relationship with the Lord in my journals and she would always write such encouraging words back to me. She pushed me to keep writing about Christ and pursing my walk with the Lord. She was my favorite teacher. Her heart touched many of our lives.

Lindsey and I, during her brief stay in the Washington, DC area, had many open, intimate conversations about our upbringing and other similar circumstances, which bound us together as sisters, unbroken by the limited time over the years we were able to spend with one another.

In closing, I'd like to honestly say, Lindsey Gunter was the closest person to perfection I have ever met.  She suffered mightily but bravely at the end of her life on Earth, as did Greg, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  If you didn't believe in our Lord and God before their struggle, I sincerely hope you do now.

Remember her humor.  Remember her radiance.  And thank God for whatever portion of our lifetimes we were able to spend with her.

You were the best and coolest English teacher! Love you lots.



Mrs. Gunter was my 10th grade English teacher at Cy Fair. I wrote a journal entry every single day in her class as our opening assignment. I was going through my first heartbreak and that's what I would write about...my aching heart. Mrs. Gunter would write back with heartfelt love and compassion for my feelings. Something adults don't always do. She never said, "you're too young for love." Or "you'll be over it in no time." She always said very compassionate things. She knew I was a Christian, so at times she also reminded me of the love of God during those times. It really blessed me. The following school year, 11th grade, she picked me as one of her mentees. I was not in her class any longer, but still received sweet notes and little gifts. One was a cross that hung on the mirror of my car for 10 years! Up until 2015 when I got a new car. I still have the cross in my keepsake box. I still have some of her sweet notes. They will always be near and dear to my heart. She was loved...she was LOVE in the flesh. She will be missed!



We have always thought of you so often, with sweet memories of times past.  And those memories on our hearts will forever last.  Not everyone who passes through leaves good memories along the way.  But you left memories on our hearts, and those memories will forever stay.  We love you, Lindsey.  And God bless you Greg.



The number of lives Lindsey touched is infinite.  In life she gave and gave to those in her path and has been an angel on earth to mankind and animal. If one grew to know her, he or she learned that Lindsey was also very entertaining. I can still remember her sense of humor and how she could tell a story so well. Everyone would laugh and laugh.  Lindsey loved Greg, Amby and the Clinkscale family like no other.  With the  gift of Lindsey's love came loyalty and devotion. If you were wise, you would not bring harm to those she loved because her fierce fire of defense would ignite.  Lindsey told me and others that she was an educator to help young lives and for no other reason.  Every day her English students would write at least a one page personal journal entry and she responded to each and every writing in pen with words of connection and support. That means that she responded to a minimum of 150 students per day.  This is not hyperbole but fact. Above all, Lindsey was a model of Gods love.  I have a stronger faith because of Lindsey Vance Gunter.  My heart aches for her loved ones and I am amazed at her courageous fight these past years.  All my prayers and love to all of you.



My thoughts and prayers are with you Greg and Garrett.  I worked with Lindsay at Splendora Junior High.  I will always remember Lindsay's wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh.  She was a special lady and you both well know, cherish the good times you shared with her.
