It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sweet soul Madison McCall Mead on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 29, in her hometown of Lakeway, Texas. Madison was born on November 7, 1995 to her loving parents, Marvin Udell Mead and Lisa Diane Tharp. Madison graduated from Lake Travis High School in 2014.
Madison had a soft, compassionate heart for her family, friends and all living creatures, big and small. She spent much of her life on the waters of Lake Travis skiing and wakeboarding with her family. Madison also enjoyed working in the service industry, where she was able to make many lasting friendships.
Madison loved her pets like family. Special to her heart were her dogs Nizzo and Skylar, and her kitties Tabitha and Rascal. She enjoyed music and would dance and sing every word. She had a passion for collecting colorful clothing and wearing as much jewelry as would fit. She cared for flowers and plants of all kinds and would make sure they were never cold at night. Since she was a little girl, she had a special admiration for butterflies, awed at their beauty and their ability to fly from flower to flower.
Madison is preceded in death by her grandparents Robert Udell Mead and Helga Franziska Blum, her aunt Pamela Ann Millard, her uncle Thomas Ray Tharp, and her dear family friend, Bonnie Lea Southwell. Madison lost her mother and closest friend Lisa at the tender age of 16, and Madison’s sorrow for this loss affected her deeply. She’s now back in the comforting arms of her loved ones who left her too soon, and safe with God, who she sought throughout her challenges.
Madison is survived by her brother Tyler Mead, her father Marvin Mead, and her cousins Christopher Millard, Andrew Tharp, and Catherine Schuler.
She is also survived by her found-family of devoted friends, many of whom she bonded with as sisters their whole lives. They loved and supported her through all her joys and sorrows.
A celebration of life will be held for Madison on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish 411 Ranch Rd 620 S, Lakeway, TX 78734. She loved colorful clothing and we know she would love to see all of her friends and family dressed as lively as they wish.
Thank you to all who loved Madison and have made a difference in her life. She will forever be felt in our hearts, in every flower we smell and every butterfly we see. Fly, butterfly, and be free.
