Michael David Blair left this world on August 13, 2023 at the young age of 34. He graced us with his presence on September 18, 1988. Michael is survived by his parents Tori and Bill Gold, father David Blair, sisters Ten’e and Kelsey Blair, aunt Tawnia Richardson- Rafferty (A.K.A. aunt T), uncle Bob Rafferty, grandfather Glenn Richardson, grandmother Sandra Rodriguez, cousin Holly Cates, and a large extended family.
Having a close and loving relationship with his family, Michael’s early life consisted of countless family adventures and gatherings. He enjoyed a life growing up around Lake Travis with his family and many friends. Michael attended Lake Travis ISD from elementary to high school where his interests were sparked in playing sports, debate competitions and participating in theater. With his animated personality, Michael thrived in costume themed events. He enjoyed, participated in, and volunteered for many local fairs and festivals which he attended with his mother and aunt T. Michael enjoyed snow skiing, musical and theatrical performances, dancing, and playing games of all sorts. In particular, Michael had a passion for computer games and traveled to compete in gaming tournaments.
At the age of 26, Michael was formally diagnosed with schizophrenia, though it emerged years earlier. This never ending battle was a struggle for him and everyone who loved him. Michael’s family, and particularly his mother, worked tirelessly to provide Michael the most stable and most loving life possible.
Michael was known for his charming smile and his ability to make people laugh, as well as his kindness and warmth. He was an infectiously genuine person that people trusted and leaned upon. Family, friends, and everyone who knew Michael will miss him dearly and forever treasure the time they shared with him.
