Norbert C White

Known to friends and family as “Norby” or “Whitey”, Norbert was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Arthur A. White, Sr. and Louise Acquistapace White. He spent most of his life in Jefferson, Louisiana until relocating to Lakeway, Texas (just outside Austin) to be near his daughter and her family. Norbert was married to Brenda Parent White for 56 years and together they attended church at St. Agnes Parish in Jefferson and Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway.

Norbert is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley White Lizana, his brother Arthur A. White, Jr., his niece Gesina Lizana Longenecker, and his nephew Florian Joseph Lizana, III. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his daughter Erica (David) Vandersand, and their children Drew, Mark, Angel, and Teresa; his nieces Dayna (Steve) Nixon, Shari (James) Triche, Ronda (Mike) Thompson, and Stacy (Joe, deceased) Landers; his nephew’s wife, Letty Lizana and their children Janel, Jessica, Brian, Rachel, and Scott; his niece Gesina’s children Lani, Gene, and Aimee; and beloved cousins in the Acquistapace, Parent, and White families.

Norbert worked at Beer & Company Brokerage, E.F. Hutton & Company, and Lafayette Insurance then retired from Shell Oil Metairie Plant. After retirement, he was a valued volunteer for Jefferson Drainage Board committees as well as the Ochsner Patient Advisory Board.

Over the years Norbert enjoyed many hobbies including intermural sports, photography/videography, and woodworking. He never met a stranger, loved to ask questions, and was rarely without an opinion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022, at Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway, Texas. Interment will be at a later date in the New Orleans area.
