Robert James Wilson (Bob), born April 7, 1939 in Detroit Michigan to Donald & Inez Wilson, passed away on April 11, 2022 in Lakeway, Texas at the age of 83. He’s survived by his wife Beverly Wilson and his two children, son Jeffrey Lee Wilson and daughter, Kelly Lynn Stamos. He is also survived by Jeff’s wife, Kristy Wilson and their two children, Logan James & Harper Ann Wilson. As well as Kelly’s husband, Andy Stamos and their three daughters, Saylor Grace, Scotlyn Faith, and Brightyn Hope Stamos.
Bob loved his wife unconditionally from the moment they met and somehow convinced her to stay married to him for just over 50 years! Arguably, his greatest sales job ever! He was the consummate salesman, an amazing husband, father, and friend, who was always there with a positive outlook on life and someone you could count on to be there when you needed him. Bob cherished his 5 grandkids, and he was always excited to brag about all their accomplishments in school, sports and how much he loved them.
Never without a great joke or a funny story, Bob (affectionately known as the Captain) lived his life to the fullest. He positively impacted numerous family and friends all over the country. He’ll be remembered as someone who loved his family, boating in the San Juan Islands, his sports cars, golfing and sharing “at least 2” bottles of wine with anyone he was close to. As Dad famously once said, “the wine is not going to drink itself!”
Whether it was Chromed Corvettes, Mahogany Chris Craft Boats, and or his Golf Carts, Bob always had to have them looking pristine. He took pride in everything he owned and loved having his kids and grandkids there to “help” keep them clean. Let’s be honest, he appreciated the free labor!
Over the last two years, Bob became known as a celebrity around the hospital, because no matter what ailment he was battling (they were numerous), he always had a smile on his face and a kind word or joke for the amazing doctors and nurses that took care of him. We want to thank each one of them for the remarkable care they provided him in his time of need.
Bob insisted that we celebrate him by getting together with family & friends and tell our stories while enjoying good food and some adult beverages. We promised him to have a couple laughs at his expense by remembering all the great times he spent with each of us on this special day. For the many lives Bob touched, he will be extremely missed.
