After World War II, Roger immigrated to America with his parents and brother from the picturesque Adriatic coastal town of Rovigno, Italy. He embraced his newfound homeland and the dream it offered to those willing to work for it. Even though he knew little English, he completed high school by the age of 16, and earned a Chemical Engineering degree from Syracuse University by the age of 20. Professionally, he had a passion for always doing things right in the challenging petrochemical and industrial minerals industries.
He met his wife, Krystyna, on a Lake Ontario beach, the first of many beaches on several continents they would walk along together over their 56 year marriage. The consulting company he founded, Isonex, Inc., served industrial minerals clients all over the world for over 30 years. Some even called him "The Soda Ash Guru."
In retirement, his pleasures were simpler; playing the stock market, enjoying the view from his Lake Travis home and playing with his two grandsons.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, big brother Franco, and sister-in-law Marilyn. He is survived by his wife Krystyna, children Lisa and Mark, daughter-in-law Sara, two grandsons, two nieces, a nephew and a great niece and great nephew.
He is at peace and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to the Liturgy of the Word on Saturday, June 30, 11:30 a.m. at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing Rd, Lakeway, Texas 78734. A reception will follow in the Great Room at Emmaus.
