

His wife Melinda and his loving and devoted daughter Audrey were with him as he quietly took his final breath. His passing at Baylor Scott and White hospital in Temple, Texas followed a brief catastrophic health event.
Ron and his wife Melinda shared a beautiful life together for nearly 33 years, celebrating their anniversary on April 23rd.
Ron was born on March 24, 1947 in Kerrville, Texas to Mary Ann and Gilbert Edward Pyle. He was a big brother to twin siblings, his late brother, Cary Pyle, and Jerry Pyle of Dallas, Texas and they grew up in various cities throughout Texas. Ron attended parochial Catholic schools and graduated from Bryan Adam’s high school in Dallas, Texas.
Ronald received a full academic scholarship to attend UT Arlington for his undergraduate and Master's degrees and attended John Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he received a PHD, and postdoctoral work following. Later in life he pursued a law degree receiving an EJD, while working full time at Motorola Inc.
Ronald worked at Tracor, Radian, and had a 23-year career at Motorola Semiconductor. While working as the Director of Intellectual Property Asset Management at Motorola, he assembled an international team of brilliant scientists located in Kyiv, Ukraine. This was the pinnacle of success for his career in the semiconductor industry working alongside a brilliant group and highly skilled group of international technology professionals, scientists, and executives. He left Motorola to launch his consulting company and worked for McKool Smith Law Firm in Dallas, Texas and subsequently for ST Microelectronics. He retired at 71 years of age in 2019.
Ron was a loving, generous, steadfast and loyal husband. He enjoyed spending time with his loving kids Audrey and Gerardo Newberry and Trevor Pyle and fiance Ashley Spence. Ron’s 21-month-old granddaughter Estelle Rose Newberry was the joy and light of his life and being her granddaddy was truly no greater joy.
Ron was a passionate Electronics enthusiast, a creative woodworker building furniture, exotic wood take down archery bows, and beautiful handcrafted guitars. He spent many years in the Austin Radio Control Model airplane club building and flying his precision model RC airplanes at the flying field and competing in tournaments around the state. Additionally, Ron collected and enjoyed many outstanding bottles of California Cabernet, sharing his passion for fine wines with many friends.
Ron was a lifelong voracious learner, and enjoyed studying and devouring textbooks from a variety of subjects including: circuitry, stereo electronics, astrophysics, computer science, furniture building, woodworking, archery bow building, guitar crafting, radio control model airplanes, historic model ship building, astronomy, gunsmithing, geochemistry, gemology, viticulture, and more.
Ron became a “regular” with Gerardo at the gun range, shooting pistols and rifles with his friends at the Shady Oaks gun range. It became a very rewarding sport as he enjoyed the great camaraderie at the shooting range.
Ron was a dog lover and enjoyed the loyalty and love of his faithful dachshund companions: Mozart, Hansel, Gretel, Hazel, Heidi, and Holly and Cookie, his faithful companion rescue.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Melinda and best friend of nearly 33 years; his adoring and loving daughter, Audrey Nicole Newberry; devoted friend and son-in-law Gerardo Newberry and joyful granddaughter Estelle Rose; amazing son, Trevor Reid Pyle and beautiful fiancé Ashley Spence; sister-in-law Brenda Holden; grandchildren Caden Pyle, Emma Pyle and Addie Pyle, Keely Pyle and granddaughter Ava; and brother, Jerry Pyle; cousins, Greg Lillich, Suzanne Davis, and Sandra Lillich; nieces Emma Holden, Faith Holden and Paige Thomas; nephew Brian Thomas.
Service and celebration of Ron’s life will be Monday, March 16 at 10 am at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, Texas, 411 Ranch Rd 620 South. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, from 4-6 pm at the same location. Internment will follow the service at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive.
