Russell C. Block

After a valiant battle with cancer, Russell Block passed away on August 19, 2016, in Lakeway, Texas, at the age of 76. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sue; daughter Leanne Norman, son-in-law Chris, granddaughters Brooke and Ericka; daughter Tiffany Kolarik, son-in law Bryan, granddaughters Ashlynn, Jillian, and McKenna; step-daughter Sheryl Smith, husband Brent, granddaughters Brenna, Kennedy, and Rylan; step-son Jerrell Stark, wife Denise; and twin brother Roger Block and wife Jean.

Russell was born on March 29, 1940, along with his twin brother Roger Block in Watertown, WI, to father Fred Block and mother Irene Block who predeceased him. Russell graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and the University of Southern California with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Russell worked in the Aerospace Industry in Southern California for 38 years.

Russ and his brother Roger made numerous trips to the Black Hills and the Great Plains to study the culture and history of our Native Americans. During their marriage, Sue and Russ traveled extensively throughout the world. In 2011, they moved from California to Lakeway, Texas were he worshiped at the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 2:00 PM at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas.
