

Ruth was raised in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Doylestown High School. She always said her claim to fame was being a friend and classmate of James Mitchener. She continued her education at Mansfield University by receiving a degree in Music as a Supervisor in Public Schools. It included elementary, junior and senior high school, choral and instrumental groups and the development in those areas. She took additional courses at Columbia University in New York City.
Her teaching career rewarded her with numerous accolades and she was also feted with awards as she became involved as a Director of Women’s Choral groups that were associated with the National Federation of Women’s Clubs.
Ruth volunteered to direct the Episcopal Junior Choir. It was a job for someone with great patience. Her dedication produced numerous top quality performances.
Ruth enjoyed golf and lots of bridge and was a true competitor in both.
Ruth will always be remembered for her wit, her kindness, her sense of humor and her charm. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Della and Elmer; her husband of 50 years, J. Richard Beane; brother, George Hoffman; sister, Grace Hoffman; son-in-law, Clayton E. Blakeway, Sr.; grandson, John Marshall Blake.
She is survived by her daughter Constance Lee Blake and husband Kenneth; daughter Sandra R. Blakeway; grandchildren, Rachael Blake Shoquist, Matthew Blake and wife Kelly; Joshua Blake and wife Sarah; Clayton Blakeway, Jr.; and numerous great- grandchildren.
Services were held at the Lakeway Church on July 7th.
Graveside services will be held at the Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown, PA on July 14th at 3:30 PM.
